We use low RPMs during the cleaning cycles because they are less distressing for timid cats. The cleaning time can also be prolonged if your cat walks near the front of the machine or enters the smart litter box during a clean cycle. Sometimes cats are very curious at the beginning and may stop by frequently to check out what’s happening. 

The litter barrel rotates back and forth during the cleaning cycles to shake free any loose cat litter to save space in the waste bin and to conserve cat litter 

 Possible reasons for this are:

• The trash door may be blocked, Check the trash door to make sure it is not jammed and that it can open and close fully and smoothly. We recommend checking that the trash door is functioning properly every time you change the garbage bag.
• The garbage bag may be full. Check the garbage bag and replace it if needed.
• The clump of waste may be too large to pass through the trash door and into the waste bin, Break up large clumps of waste as needed to allow them to fit through the trash door.

If you do not begin a garbage bag change cycle before replacing the garbage bag, litter may leak out of the garbage bag because the litter barrel is not in the proper position. Press Button ②for 2 seconds, then the barrel will rotate 90° counterclockwise to ensure that the mouth of the garbage bag faces upward for no-mess bag replacement. 

• There may not be enough space remaining in the garbage bag. Please replace the garbage bag then press Button ③ again to begin a new litter change cycle.
• There may have been too much litter remaining in the litter pan. Always make sure that the remaining litter in the litter pan is close to the MlN line before beginning a litter change cycle.

If there is too much litter remaining in the litter pan, some may spill out of the litter barrel when it completes a full rotation during the litter change cycle. Always make sure that the remaining litter in the litter pan is close to the MlN line before beginning a litter change cycle to avoid overflow when the barrel rotates. 

 Possible reasons for this are:

• The feet may not be flat on the floor. Double-check that the machine has all four feet flat on the ground.
• The smart litter box may be placed on soft, unstable, or uneven flooring. Check to make sure the smart litter box is placed on a flat, firm surface. If a cat does not fully enter (for example if your cat only placed their front paws inside the smart litter box to check it out) or stays in the machine for less than 10 seconds this can result in an inaccurate weight.
• If a cat enters the machine while it is working, this will also result in an inaccurate weight.
• If you just added fresh litter to the litter pan, the weight will be inaccurate because the machine is designed to automatically recalibrate the weight after 30 minutes. Any time more than 2 pounds of litter is added, the system needs to recalibrate the weight, so that the weight sensors in the feet can accurately sense when a cat enters the machine. Press Button ③ for 2 seconds to level the litter and recalibrate the weight immediately.

The smart litter box will not stop when running a litter leveling or weight calibration cycle, even if a cat enters the smart litter box. However, the innovative product design combined with the limited rotation angle (+ 45°) of these operations ensures the safety of cats that enter the smart litter box when these functions are active. 

The machine automatically runs a self-check every single time it is disconnected from and then reconnected to power. If the self-check takes more than 15 minutes, the error, LED will turn on. Possible reasons for this are:

• The litter barrel release handle may not be properly closed. Check to make sure the handle is properly secured.
• The litter barrel may not be properly installed or there is foreign matter stuck in the rotation mechanism. Lift the release handle, then lift the litter barrel out, Remove any foreign matter from the base and the outside of the litter barrel. Then replace the barrel according to the tips on the base and close the release handle.

Mixed cat litter with medium-sized pellets, such as mixed tofu litter is preferred, Bentonite clay cat litter and litter with a very small “sand” texture are okay, though they may affect the delay time of the FULL LED prompt due to their weight, density, and liquidity. Do NOT use silica gel (crystal) litter, Do NOT use pine litter, activated carbon litter other litters that are very lightweight or low-density. Do NOT use litter with pellets larger than 0.1″(2.5 mm)in diameter or 0.6″(15 mm) in length. Do not use high-dust litter.
